FISHING LICENSES
Please note that the process for purchasing Government Fishing licenses has changed as of January 1, 2019. However, you will be able to purchase your fishing license prior to your visit. (We can get your license on-line here at the Lodge, but it would be just like doing it at home. Therefore, we recommend you purchase your fishing license before your arrival.)
In order to buy a fishing license, you need to have an Outdoors Card. (You may have an Outdoors Card from previous years of visiting Ontario for fishing.)
You can apply for your Outdoors Card, along with your fishing license, using the following options:
If you go the online route, your e-license will have a temporary Outdoors Card number validating the license until you receive the permanent Outdoors Card in the mail, usually about 20 days later. If you already have the Outdoors Card, getting a license is a matter of or applying online at https://www.ontario.ca/page/fishing and printing it yourself.
Non-Canadian residents need an Outdoors Card to fish in Ontario if they are 18 years of age and over. The price is $9.68 plus tax in CDN funds. (NOTE: Non-residents 65 years of age or older are NOT exempt from requiring a license).
Non-Canadian residents should purchase the 8-day Conservation Fishing License. This is the license that Waterfalls Lodge recommends for our Catch and Release program. The price is $33.92 plus tax in CDN funds.
We are in Ontario Fishing Zone 10 - regulations can be found online at https://www.ontario.ca/document/ontario-fishing-regulations-summary/fisheries-management-zone-10
